No transparency in water rate refunds

Tenants have received compensation after being overcharged for water rates. But there’s a huge lack of transparency about how much compensation they receive

Before 2016  housing associations and local authorities got a special rate from Thames Water for their tenants. In 2016 the court held that the saving should be passed onto the tenants. Our landlords finally agreed to do this in 2022. But there’s huge discrepancy in how much people have been paid

By way of comparison, a tenant of a 3 bedroom property of the St Matthews Estate (where Lambeth is the landlord) recently received £800 compensation

If you have received compensation for being over charged for water rates please let us know how much. The more information we have the easier it will be to challenge our landlords

We challenged MTVH over non transparent leaseholder service charges and succeeded. We hope to do the same here.
