We recently had a meeting to discuss how to force out landlords to take action on damp. We agreed to use lawyers and the court of public opinion. This means we’ll be petitioning on Saturday 1st June
We agreed to set up a support group for people who are involving lawyers
We also agreed a petition to appoint an independent environmental health officer to conduct an inspection of the most affected blocks. This could go to either the council (which regulates all landlords, public and private) or our landlords. We’ll make a decision later.
We could combine this with getting more stories about damp which we could send to the local press.
And if this doesn’t work we’ve got ideas to escalate it.
Our first petitioning session with be in June. Everyone is welcome to help.
