Several people have contacted us about NHG leaseholder service charge estimates for the 2024/2025 financial year.  In many cases the estimated amount has doubled. Please come to the NHG drop in session on Thursday 2nd May to demand answers

A committee member works in service charges for a London council.  He makes the following two points about estimates.

  • They have to be reasonable. An average of the last two years actuals with an allowance for inflation would be a reasonable estimate.  It may be reasonable to have an estimate that is higher than that, but NHG should give a reason.
  • The estimates have to cover work that’s relevant to your block.  For example, if your block does not have a lift it would be unreasonable to include a lift maintenance charge in your estimate.
