Introductions

Ps Bird said national priorities were shop-lifting & pedal-cycling. The police representatives were happy for their email (on the front of the report) to be shared , and there was agreement that all three HAs should publish contact details useful for reporting ASB in the same way.

ASB St Martins Estate generally

Francis Tabansi introduced himself as housing officer. Chair said that while we were please to see him, we were surprised that Southern had not sent anyone from their ASB team, given that ASB was the main subject of the meeting

Jan Nairn reported on the work done by NHG.

Tyson Bunby of MTVH said he had had considerable success with youth violence on the Clapham Park Estate. What we should be looking for from the police was not so much “Nicking” youths, but for the local police to provide intelligence to enable the housing assoc.s to take appropriate action. SK said how much better Clapham Park now was.

Action: Cllr Fitzroy to set up a co-ordinating structure for the three housing assoc.s and Lambeth Council

Motorcyclists on the Challice Way pavement

Jan Nairn said there was an accident waiting to happen with cycles, bikes & even cars on pavement

Jan Nairn confirmed by email “We met with the contractor on the 13th of March and at that meeting it was confirmed that bollards would be fitted. We can install 2 bollards  as you enter Challice Way to stop cars accessing via the pavement then onto the road. The second area was the area as you walk under Holbrook onto Vibart. This will hopefully slow motorcycles down. I am just waiting on a start date for the paving work. Works should commence within the next 10 days. The bollards will be fitted when the paving works are complete”

Email of Ed Crawford read to object to LTN being suspended for Roupell Road.. Nevertheless at request of SK Cllr Fitzroy will put in a request to allow motor-bikes on Roupell road.

Tyson Bunby floated idea of campaign to boycott local firms employing delivery drivers.

Action

  • NHG will put in bollards.
  • Cllr Fitzroy will get CCTV cameras installed to cover 2 paths. Police will still need public to tell them when incidents occur, so they can look at relevant CCTV.
  • Police will monitor the CCTV at certain times

Any Other Business

There had been consistent abuse of bus stop in Roupell Road. Police will send email to transport police

Cllr Fitzroy requested afternoon meeting so that local headmaster can attend. Police will provide date for next meeting/.

Now fixed for 6th June, at Scout Hut, 2.30pm (14:30)
