Our next general meeting is this coming Tuesday

St Martin’s TRA General Meeting
St Martin’s Community Centre, Abbots Park
Tuesday 28th April, 7pm – 9pm

(advice surgery from 6pm for personal issues)
Full agenda here

This will be our first general meeting since January. The progress on the issues that came up on our January meeting is as follows:

  • High Trees Lighting – We received a response from Metropolitan shortly after the meeting saying “Clearly the scale of the lighting failures was at a level that was simply not acceptable”, which was good but the lighting situation doesn’t seem to have improved much since then. At the last count 115 lights were out. Chuka Umunna, the Labour candidate for Streatham, put in a complaint to Metropolitan on our behalf. The response is here. We can discuss next steps at the general meeting. Jonathan Bartley, the Green Party candidate, has also pledged to help with the campaign
  • Christchurch Road Youth & Leisure Facilities – We have a petition to demand these are open to the entire community, just like we were promised when the school was opened. We’ve gone door to door asking for signatures, had a stall in the High Trees and left the petition in the Community Centre, at High Trees and in various shops. We now have over 240 signatures on the petition.
  • New Logo – Particular thanks to Fenstanton School for organising a competition to design our new logo. We hope to digitise it soon, then we can use it on all our publicity
