When City Heights secondary school was opened we were promised the Yellow Qube would be a fully functioning youth club. It’s now barely used. Come to our public meeting on Wednesday 6th March to discuss how we can fix this
Public Meeting – Decent Youth Facilities For St Martins
Wednesday 6th March, 7:30pm
Scout Hut on High Trees
Cllr Mohammad Hashi will be present
When City Heights secondary school was opened, a youth facility was provided by Christchurch Road for the youth of the neighbourhood. It lay dormant until the St Martins Tenants & Residents association campaigned and the facility, now called the Yellow Qube, was opened 2016 amidst much fanfare.
It continued for a few years until it was closed, leaving youths with nowhere local to go.
In 2023 the Yellow Qube partially opened to host the eSports Youth Club. This is welcome, but we are still campaigning for it to open as a proper youth club with more facilities. The money is there, the Community Interest Company that runs it still has £200,000 in the bank
