Police were called to an address on Roycroft Close at 1918hrs by residents, to reports of loud bangs which were suspected to be firearms discharges. Officers attended and searched the area extensively. No evidence relating to a firearms discharge was found. We are aware that a group of suspects, some armed with bladed weapons, attended an address on Roycroft Close; that the occupants were known to them, and that they attempted to force entry to the address.
A crime scene was in place around the affected address but has been closed. The investigation is being progressed by officers from Central South BCU CID. The Burglary and Robbery Investigation Team are leading the investigation, however. Lines of enquiry are being pursued and the investigation is in its early stages but ongoing.
