Several people have contacted us to say they are concerned with motorcyclists using the pavement near Challice Way. The police have agreed to make this issue a priority
Terry Curtis, our treasurer, raised this issue at the last police liaison meeting. The police have agreed to make this a ward priority. What this means in practice is that if we supply the local police with photos of individuals driving on pavements police will take direct action against those individuals, and this can affect bids for additional resources. Wards that never report crime are unlikely to get many officers.
So if you can take a picture of a motorcyclist using the Challice Way pavement please email it directly to Cllr Saleha Jaffer on sjaffer@lambeth.gov.uk rather than reporting it to the local police. It’s likely to get higher priority that way.
However, I know it’s hard to do this. CCTV would make a difference but it would be a big campaign to get it installed. If you’d like to help with this campaign please let me know.
