Have you got a refund for NHG service charges?

NHG leasehoders: have you got a refund for your NHG service charges paid into your bank account? If not, please let us know.

In August 2023 NHG leaseholders should have received a service charge statement from NHG. In all cases we are aware of this states that NHG owes the leaseholder money, generally between £1,000 and £3,000. If you haven’t received this correspondence please let me know.

This refund money will be credited to your NHG service charge account, but you can request to have it credited to your bank account.

How to receive the refund money in your bank account:

  1. Contact your housing officer, and ask them to transfer the refund money from your NHG service charge account to your bank account.
  2. Email them the top half of your bank statement (i.e. the part with your name, sort code, account number and address. No need to show your balance nor your bank transactions).
  3. Please let me know when you have done this. It is useful information when we speak to NHG on behalf of all leaseholders.
  4. If you have asked for the refund please let me know as soon as you received it. For some people, so far, the refund has been processed within a month. Others are still having problems. In order to assist leaseholders further, we need this information, as we regularly speak to NHG.
